The thick rain forest and timeless beaches of Olympic National Park had captivated our excitement since a long time. There is always one person in the group who cancels the trip last minute and we had one too, but we were a good of 7 ready to roll. It was a 2.5 hours drive from Redmond and we had over-planned and packed all the essentials. We stopped at the Makah Indian reservation, learnt a few things about the Makah tribe, picked up the necessary permits, got our National Park passport signed, took a mandatory picture at the National Park signage, and off we went! 


From parking, it was a 1.5 kms walk until the beginning of the forest. The forest was so gorgeous with tall trees, and lush green variety of plants. We started our journey which was like a 6 kms hike through the thick rain forest and muddy pathways…
